Cyclomedia

Cyclomedia is a Dutch geospatial technology company that captures high-accuracy street-level imagery and delivers automated Data Insights (DI) used by infrastructure, utilities, housing, and insurance clients across the Netherlands.

What We Did

Understanding DI Adoption and Market Potential

We conducted an in-depth evaluation of Cyclomedia’s current Data Insights (DI) performance and market positioning, focusing on:

  • Adoption Drivers: Analysed DI usage across infrastructure, housing, water, and insurance workflows, identifying low awareness, unclear positioning, and limited precision as the core barriers to adoption.
  • Client Insights: Conducted interviews with key users such as Heijmans, BESIX, Van Gelder, and Düsseldorp to understand real operational needs—ranging from guardrail inspections and asphalt quality checks to object tilt detection and road-surface analysis.
  • Workflow Mapping: Examined how DI fits into existing client processes, highlighting bottlenecks caused by data-format constraints, timing of data collection, and the reliance on manual verification for regulatory acceptance.
  • Market Opportunities: Evaluated sector attractiveness and determined that infrastructure and insurance offer the highest near-term commercial potential due to safety obligations, compliance pressure, and measurable cost savings.
  • Strategic Direction: Assessed product improvements, commercial messaging, and outreach requirements to strengthen DI’s value proposition and support wider adoption across priority sectors.

Outcome for the Client

Our findings provided Cyclomedia with actionable strategies to strengthen DI adoption and accelerate commercial growth:

  1. Clear Positioning: Refine DI’s value proposition by communicating its sector-specific benefits more explicitly across infrastructure, insurance, water, and housing.
  2. Product Improvements: Prioritize enhancements in detection precision (e.g., raveling, tilt, guardrails) and improve data-delivery formats to better match client workflows.
  3. Targeted Sector Focus: Concentrate commercial efforts on infrastructure and insurance, where regulatory pressure, high asset volumes, and clear cost savings create strong near-term adoption potential.
  4. Enhanced Partner Engagement: Improve communication, onboarding, and support processes to reduce friction for users and increase DI integration into daily operational tasks.
  5. Commercial Roadmap: Implement a phased growth plan including segmentation, marketing alignment, and proactive outreach to boost awareness and position DI as the default solution for automated geospatial insights.
