What We Did
Understanding Homeowner Barriers to Residential Sustainability Adoption
We conducted a behavioral research study to understand why many homeowners are not taking steps to make their homes more sustainable. Through surveys, interviews, desk research, and benchmarking analyses, the team identified key barriers, motivations, communication preferences, and behavioral patterns influencing sustainability adoption among residents.

- Developed actionable homeowner personas based on behavioral insights and motivations
- Identified key barriers preventing residents from adopting sustainability measures
- Created communication and activation strategies tailored to different resident groups
- Delivered a prioritized roadmap of quick wins and long-term sustainability interventions for the municipality
